Product Installation, Surfacing & Decals

It's the final touches that count when it comes to quality fitness equipment. From the easy installation process to optional surfacing to carefully designed instructional details, we go the extra mile to make sure that those final touches are perfect!

Installation

TriActive equipment is designed for easy installation, so that it is even simpler than the typical installation of playground equipment. While TriActive Kids can provide all the resources needed, such as specifications, for the installation, many organizations already have established installation procedures and/or relationships with local contractors. Most communities have contractors who have had such experience, and our research shows that such installations are usually more cost-effective when performed by contractors in your area. In addition to providing detailed installation instructions prior to the installation date, TriActive America offers any technical assistance needed throughout the installation process.

If you prefer an alternative, several professional organizations serve as resources for skilled contractors, such as the National Playground Contractors Association. Please contact us if you would like more information on such alternatives.

Surfacing

The choice of surfacing is a crucial issue, based primarily on safety and durability. This material not only improves the quality of the workout on the equipment, but also allows additional space for other exercises to be performed. The thickness of the recycled surfacing material can vary between 1 inch and 3.5 inches.

If you are constructing a TriActive Fitness System as a fitness area that is accessible to adults and teenagers, it is not designated as a “playground.” Consequently, you have a broader choice of surfacing options.

However, if you are installing a TriActive Fitness System at a public facility accessible to young children, such as a school, you must follow the National Playground Safety Standards. The “Handbook for Public Playground Safety” is available online from the Consumer Product Safety Commission: www.cpsc.gov/cpscpub/pubs/325.pdf. The CPSC defines necessary surfacing materials to meet potential fall heights. The surfacing must also comply with the Americans With Disabilities Act, which establishes that disabled individuals cannot be prohibited from access.

For more information on surfacing providers, please contact TriActive. We will discuss surfacing issues with you and provide whatever assistance you require.

Instructional Decals

Instructional signage is an important feature of a TriActive Fitness System. Whenever needed, each component includes instructional information on a weatherproof vinyl decal, which is designed to adhere firmly to the main structural frame of the equipment. The instructions include explanations for the muscle groups that are exercised on each piece of equipment, as well as detailed directions on how to perform the exercises.
